i made stawberry freezer jam earlier this summer and it was so easy. i highly recommend it. this blog entryoutlines the whole process. i used the exact same method and it worked perfectly.
ps: i also suggest having a stick blender for smooshing the berries. it's worth getting one, as well, for making autumn and winter soups. i cannot wait for autumn and its cookery.
lisa ann, another thing you can do is just buy a box of fruit pectin (sure-jell). inside, you'll find a ton a recipes for jams with instructions for freezing.
The Anderson's is a great one-stop-shop for canning stuff (sure-jell, jars or freezer containers, other canning implements) PLUS it has a really great produce section). It's at Sawmill & 161.
